I've watched some of the best Nashville songwriters walk around with loose papers and a pile of ragged spiral notebooks full of songs and parts of songs...old cassettes, mini-discs and CDs full of demos that you paid good money for. As a songwriter myself, I've decided to get all that stuff organized in one place....SongCat.com

You may remember me from SONGS.COM...
In 1995 I started working with songs and songwriters in Nashville and formed www.Songs.com with two fantastic partners - Paul Schatzkin and Tom Kimmel. Four years later we represented over 650 songwriter clients and were known as the premier site for independent singer-songwriters and their music. Songs.com was recognized as one of the first web sites to sell music on the Internet.

The one thing that our clients asked for most often was the ability to manage their personal web pages and song collections themselves. To upload their songs (in mp3) and be able to send a digital audio sample, lyrics and licensing information via E-Mail to publishers and artists who might be interested in recording their songs.

As a serious professional songwriter, I still need those tools. That's why I decided to build them here...at SongCat. If you're a songwriter yourself and would be interested in having a presence and managing your songs and demos here, please contact me and I'll let you know how it all works.
